Some of my Turtle Musings after practice.

"My body is borrowed.
This is my 'Earth body' and in relaxation I give it back. I surrender it back to the Earth where sooner of later it shall return. The Earth wants to hold her borrowed body - so that she can bring us both into resonance. This is healing for us both. When I hand myself over.
I feel the sea - in the waves of my breath. As I tune into the ocean of breath I feel more watery in my body. The dryness and rigidity is countered. A deep tide of expansion washes over me.
As I stand on the ground and push my feet downwards I stand strong in communion with Gaia. I bow to her, I feel a deep reverence for that which I stand for. There is strength in this. I feel her strength.
I sing down into my roots, dropping the notes deep into Gaia. Drawing her up, the notes raise to the top of my head. I am in conversation with the great mother. And it is good.
The roots speak of survival. I follow them into the confusion, what to do, who to believe, which way do I go. I feel the fear, can she cope? I feel tightness, tightness of fear gripping around my heart. And she speaks - 'Give it to me child of Gaia, give me back your earth body, surrender the fear , let go your confusion, soften yourself, give me space to heal us'
I lie back, I fall back, back into love, again and again, I fall in love with Gaia. We become one in love.
I dive into an ocean of love. In the waters of love, dry rocks become tiny pebbles, grains of sand. And Fear dissolves. I am out of fear. I am in love. And it is good.
This love gives me different eyes, I see beautiful Gaia all around me. She is in the clothes on my back, the floor of this house, and the books on the shelf.  All material things. All the borrowed things.
I sit up alert to her, with tears in my eyes, and I kiss the borrowed floor, I kiss my borrowed hands.
I feel love. I tell her I love her. I promise not to hurt her. I promise to serve her.
This is healing for us both.
Gaia reminds me everything is borrowed. Take care of it. Receive this abundance with gratitude. Give back gracefully, Never waste. Be respectful. Steer clear of fear, it is a dry barren land. Be kind. Dive into the deepest waters of your heart.  Again and again and again remember what is borrowed and Fall back into Love. Lie on the earth, connect to the earth. From time to time, Give back your borrowed body.
My body belongs to her. It all belongs to her. Remind yourself everyday. Fall in love over and over. head over heels in love. Be humble in love, humbled by love, rolling in the waves of love, ride the currents of love.

And Let love - be the roots of all action."

These Practices are recorded as rough drafts!
They are imperfect and need polishing... But I love them and feel they are worth a share!
Most of the asana practices on this blog are intended for the progression of an established practice of yoga. Over time I will try to add more stuff that is suitable for beginners. This will be clearly labelled as Suitable for beginners.
Its worth revisiting this blog if you are interested in this, as I will be adding more beginners practices to each session as time goes by.

Yoga with the unicorn

OM Yogis,

Its great to have you here.
This week I'm offering five recordings working with the unicorn!
These are audio files just click on each link to access.
This practice really nurtures the beloved but often forgotten child within. My intention for this practice is that it creates a space where the scared, overwhelmed, wounded child aspect of self can receive care, protection and  understanding from the responsible loving aspect of adult self.

A good practice to Develop Deep self care and unconditional understanding.

Please please please create a sacred and quiet space for yourself to practice. Light some candles , burn incense or resins. Set intention that your space hold and heal you.

Make sure you are warm enough, have blankets at the ready and wear layers if you tend to feel the cold. Block off any drafts. Get Cosy!
Make sure family members know not to disturb you - turn your phone on to silent.
Let this time be devoted to YOU. You are a beloved child of the universe. Give this precious child your full attention just for this time. As much as anyone - You deserve Love, space and peace.

Unicorn 1 'Safe to face'  15 mins
Suitable for beginners
Safe to face

This section is some yoga for the face. Our Face works so hard. This is a chance to say thanks. Its also an opportunity for the child self to be free to 'pull a face'and explore some self expression!
Props - cushion chair or block to sit upon
Poses - seated.

Unicorn 2 'settle down and release' 20 mins
Settle down and release

This section drops us into our hips. The home of the wounded inner child. Also an area where we tend to dump our junk. I've heard the hips being called the junk drawer the place we put things when we don't know what to do with them. This section gives us a chance to settle into what might be difficult and let it soften.
Props - blanket
Poses - low lunge / pigeon / cow faced or gomukasana legs/ cobblers / Janu A / forward fold / table top.

Unicorn 3 'accept support' 20 mins
Suitable for beginners
Accept Support

Sometimes the inner child gets so strung out or hurt that he/she forgets how to allow self nurture.
Can we just cease to do and just be? This section explores our ability to be supported.
Props - rolled up towel or small thin blanket to go along the length of the spine.
Wall space or chair.
Poses - supported savasana / supported low bridge / legs up the wall / Cobblers .

Unicorn 4 'Parent and child'  20mins
Suitable for beginners
Parent and Child

Use breath, Mudra, affirmation, and self massage to feel your child self enter into the sacred embrace of the mother energies.
Props - cushion or block
Poses - seated / happy baby / reclined cobblers / Savasana.

'Unicorn meditation' Suitable for beginners (15 mins)
Unicorn meditation

Read from Alexis Cartwrights 'child of light' meditations. 15 mins
This meditation supports us to move through difficult emotions of loss, rejection or grief.
It helps us energetically interact with those who we might feel separated from.
It enhances feelings of love and encourages inner creativity and child like wonder.

These practices can be done as short stand alones  BUT If you can make the time their potency is best activated as one entire very soft heart based practice/ experience.

I hope they are of use, If so please feel welcome to share with loved ones.

Yoga with the wolf

OM YOGIS!

Glad to have you here!

In light of more hours at home and as an antidote to the media storm - I will begin to post a few practices based upon the classes I've been running. As Naive as they will be - Hopefully they will be of some service.
I've had fun and games trying to put these classes to word alone. To describe each posture in its entirety would detract I feel from the energy of each class. So before you begin it'd be a great idea to familiarise yourself with the main postures in each short sequence. Just to compensate for any errors of description on my part. I often goof the wording around the postures and am corrected by my beloved friends in class - missing your guidance guys!   ;))

Please use common sense when practising. Always working with the body that you have right now - not aspiring to the future - a body you would like to have - or the body that was once was. Be real. Be aware. Be kind.

Before you begin its beautiful to set a small but sacred space. light a candle. put your phone out the room. Open the window or dim the lights. Create a space that supports your practice .

Following is a yoga practice working with the animal magic of the wolf.

The Wolf helps us to access the Divine intelligence that is running through all things.
This divine intelligence is GURU. Guru is an energy that teaches us - as opposed to any one person. This energy runs through people, situations, nature, you name it. GURU is everywhere - we just need the eyes to see it and the heart to ask the question. What am I learning? What is this teaching me?

A good practice to look / move / stretch / Ask

In preparation

Wolf Part 1 (yang section) 30 mins.
Postures included - Triangle pose/ wide legged forward fold/ pyramid pose/ high lunge/ low lunge/ Goddess or temple pose/ hero pose.  Please familiarise yourself with these poses first if necessary.

Wolf Part 2 (yin section) 35 mins.
Postures included - Supported bridge ( grab a block! or DIY a block with some sturdy books or a stack of blankets. ) Leg stretches (grab a strap or a belt.. dressing gown ties work a treat!) Reclined pigeon / reclined cobblers pose / Savasana - grab blankets eye pillows whatever makes you comfy and warm for 10-15 minutes.

Wolf yoga part one

This is an audio file - The tech works fine on my laptop but not on my phone (might need google drive app) If you have any problems accessing this I'm happy to send it via whatsapp for those of you that know me! Just get in touch xx

Wolf Part one can stand alone as a short practice but works best when followed with Wolf part two.
Wolf part two can be practised without part one - if you just want to relax.

Wolf yoga Part Two

Big gratitude to the teachings of
Alexis Cartwright
Nareena Gaia
Jo Tastula
and Krishna Das.
Who along with the Wolf have inspired the creation of this practice.

Clarity

The eyes are the windows of the soul, But how often do we really clean these windows?

How often do we close our eyes and let them clear, opening them afresh to old problems - so that we can find new solutions?

Can we really look at things consistently with new eyes and clean vision? Of course! We were born to learn this.

Or are we stuck with old filters - dirty windows that distort and degrade the world in which we live? No way!

'We do not see the world as it is - we see the world as we are. 'Wise words. Read and re-read.

We have filters - personal pairs of broken cracked and worn out glasses - dirty windows  that cloud our eyes to what is real.

We don't always see each colour.

for example;

In fear - outside becomes a threat - we go into survival - the ability to respond aka responsibility becomes impossible - we react - from the lowest parts of the self - we tread on others to rise ourselves out .We shout at the world through dirty windows and broken glasses- we become a mad person.

MAD!

We can be manipulated and deceived by others yes - but more so by our own self. - We hijack our selves.  Fear tricks us! Our own karma is written and dictates. Our own filters. Our own muck. Becomes a stinky path to follow!

YUK!

We need to Clear the fear?

YES!

To do this, we must develop habits and practices that are clean and healthy. We must become spiritually clean.
We must clear our fear and our lower emotions,  before we can have clarity. Otherwise we are blind to what really IS.

We have to close our eyes and get still. We have to recognise what is inside of us - influencing us - that is NOT us. And allow that to clear.

How do we Clear it?  We FEEL it. I'm Afraid so!...... hmmm..Im afraid..so...

So  hold it in the light of our awareness - and that light reveals the dirt - so the suppressed emotions that created the mess can run through us efficiently, and clear quickly.

Then we can see with clarity.

We have to close our eyes and get still enough so we can hear our own messages - our own wisdom - our own voice. We have to make connection with the peace and wholeness of self.

Then we can act with clarity.

Dear ones we FEEL so we can heal. This is heart based consciousness. This is Sanity. This is clarity.

We can no more shut down the heart to think our way through.

The mind is exhausted overworked and frantic trying its best to find a solution in isolation behind dirty windows alone - in fear. The mind solves problems it quantifies and organises and it is doomed to failure without the help of heart.

So Take heart, be in wholeheartedness , have courage - this word and its implications being rooted in the heart.

Stay connected.  let the heart clean the windows so the mind can function in a healthy way.

May we all remember how to feel.
May we get still and find a path to the heart.
May our light refresh our eyes, ignite our soul.
May we see the world through the light that we are. And may we hold that light to guide others.
May we choose our light when all seems dark.

May we have clarity.

May the dragonfly colours surround you.
AND
May you see them!

Namaste.

Gnomes.

The body holds the being.
Its only right that the being hold the body in return.

Constantly, the body does its best. To hold, protect and love us right.
We can create patterns of love inside and out, to love the body back.
The being loves a pattern - something solid it can stick to.
May your patterns serve you well.

Remember to listen. Stay soft enough inside. Wrap the light of the awareness around the body regularly and keep that body warm.

When the mind decides whats possible the body becomes caged.
When the body intelligence is trusted, it can guide the self to freedom.

There is a Gnosis buried in the body. Truth and spiritual wisdom.
Dive dip - Dig in - Be nourished by the element of earth inside.

Theres much room within!

Lines of light

Lines of light,
Stretching back in time, and far away in space.
Lines of learning and information.
Lineage. Traditions. Downloads. Doorways.
Passing though people objects and places.
The worlds' beyond worlds' wide web of consciousness.
Each being fully charged, plugged in, and wired up to different and intersecting patterns.
Our lineage becomes genealogy, tradition, teachers, origins.
And everything is accessible through each other.
We are doorways for one another.
We are the keepers of our own unique light lineage.
We bring all that we are forward, when the conditions are correct.
Lines of light.

Amritham

Light with what is heavy.
Like a Bee.
Tiny wings miraculously lifting an impossible body. Uplifting. It can be done. Against all reason - ridiculous essential buzz.
Light -  sweeten the hive.
Lighten ourselves and the amrit flows.
Feeling the places, the sugar got stuck. Crystallised honey pressing on the joints.
A light-worker on her knees for too long.
Its time to stand up. Its time to move.
Doing the unstuck this body starts to buzz.
Amritham.
Honey- 'I am light'
I Choose Light.
Born of the light.
Light will lead me home.
