Most of the asana practices on this blog are intended for the progression of an established practice of yoga. Over time I will try to add more stuff that is suitable for beginners. This will be clearly labelled as Suitable for beginners.
Its worth revisiting this blog if you are interested in this, as I will be adding more beginners practices to each session as time goes by.

Yoga with the Dragon

OM Yogis

This yin based practice works with the Dragon. We look at personal power and issues relating to the power centre of self. This is a yin practice that addresses the lower back in particular - the area behind the solar plexus. We will look at Ego and Ego distortion,Tolerance and heat, and how we use our energy and hold personal power.

A good Practice to Stretch out / centre / Hold

Dragon 1 & 2 must be done in succession. NOT Stand alone.
Meditation is designed to compliment this practice - but you can do this separately if you wish.

Please set sacred space to get the most from practice.

These can be done as stand alones but are best in succession!

Please set yourself a sacred space to practice.

In this practice we will journey into stillness and see its advantages.

Yoga with the Gargoyle

OM Yogis.

I hope you are all doing good.
Today's practice is inspired by the Gargoyle. Holding poses a little longer - becoming statuesque - embodying our strength as it stands in the moment.
Gargoyles are thought to have been placed around sacred buildings to protect them. We will look at how we can use the inspiration of the Gargoyle to feel stronger and safer inside of ourselves.

A good practice to Strengthen / Hold self / Develop security

These practices could be done separately I guess, but are best done in succession.

Please set a sacred space for self to support your practice.

Please also feel welcome to take child's pose instead of dog if tired. Remember we are building strength not burning out!
